A BIT ABOUT ME

Hello my name is Terence Castle and I would classify myself as a Portrait Photographer, as this is what I specialize in but I also have a love and a keen eye for Sports photography predominately.

Skateboarding where I have my work published in a couple of magazines as well on shop websites,

I have always had an interest in photography even when I was younger I always wanted a camera but never had my own camera until I was 18 and that’s when I decided to carry my camera everywhere I could and the rest is history.

MY PROJECT

Throughout this project, I explored a range of studio techniques to capture diverse styles of portraiture, using various subjects to highlight how individuals utilize artistic expression. By experimenting with different lighting setups, camera angles, and post-processing techniques, I was able to showcase the unique ways in which people present themselves through portraiture.

I incorporated both traditional and contemporary approaches, drawing inspiration from modern digital artists to experimental photographers. Each subject brought their own personality and artistic influence on the shoot, allowing me to adapt my techniques to best complement their individual aesthetic.

From high-contrast black-and-white portraits that emphasize emotion and texture to vibrant, colour-saturated compositions that convey energy and mood, I aimed to illustrate the versatility of portraiture as a form of self-expression. Additionally, I experimented with soft-focus, dramatic shadows, and unconventional framing to push the boundaries of traditional portrait photography.
