A BIT ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Beckie I am a photographer based in Sunny Southend, Essex.
I graduated at the age of 40 with 2 children in tow after the decision to change my 20+ year career in the hospitality and catering industry.
My passion and drive for photography, like most things in my life, came from my children and realising I was able to use light and composition to create beautiful images.
I have since gone on to shoot events such as The World Branding Awards at Kensington Palace and the final match of the 2023/24 season for West Ham United Ladies.
Along with events I have a fine art background allowing me to take personal projects to the next level giving a real sense of the stories behind the subject. Looking forward to future collaborations with those wanting to tell their story.
MY PROJECT
This collection of work tells the story of a mother going through the Menopause whilst living in a Rundown Tower Block in Great Britain.
That mother is me. And that tower block is my home with my 2 children Jack & Elsie-Lou.
With over 50% of the world's population destined for the menopause my aim was to convey the reality and the rawness of being a woman that we live with everyday yet is still so overlooked, with many women being taken for granted and unheard both in their personal lives and the workplace.
Much the same as where I live, rundown, broken, left to wither away with no one listening to what it needs ... whilst trying to find the beauty in it all ... turning a negative into a positive.
